Our owner, Bob, first opened this store in 1989 under the name Brothers Community Hardware. He noticed there weren't any black owned hardware stores in the area, and he wanted to change that. He believed people should be able to shop at a store where the owner also lived in the neighborhood, as a way to keep the money circulating in the community. He soon relocated with a new business partner, the late community organizer Atchudta, and rebranded as Sisters Community Hardware. He finally settled into what is known today as Hardware 2.0, which is now managed by his son, Jitu. For over 30 years, we've served the Prospect Heights area of Brooklyn as a family owned and operated independent hardware store. We strive to grow with the ever evolving needs of the surrounding community while maintaining the personalized, friendly service you'd expect from a local hardware store.
